Buddha Trails Spiritual Tour itinerary

 

Arrive Delhi
Arrive Delhi. On arrival at the airport, you will meet our representative and be transferred to hotel. Overnight in Hotel. 

Delhi Tour 
Tour around Delhi, which includes Jama Masjid - the largest mosque of Emperor Shahjahan. Later proceed to Red Fort, Raj Ghat- cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi, to India Gate - Drive past the President's House & Parliament House, Humayun's Tomb (a memorial of the Mughals, its design is inspired by the Taj Mahal), the Qutab Minar & Lotus Temple. 

Delhi - Bodhgaya
Domestic flight patna,Enroute visit Nalanda and Rajgir. Nalanda-a great center of Buddhist learning and one of the most famed university citadels of ancient times. Rajgir, it was once the ancient capital of the powerful Kingdom of Maghada. From the out-skirts of Rajgir, a historic road leads to Gridhakuta or vultures peak where the Buddha preached. Here the first Buddhist Council was held after the Lord's Mahaparinirvana. Arrive in Bodhgaya and (overnight) in Bodhgaya. 

Bodhgaya 
Buddha left his foot trail nearly 2500 years ago while travelling in the quest of enlightenment, Bodhgaya is one of the most important and sacred Buddhist center.It was here under a banyan tree, the Bodhi Tree, Gautama attained supreme knowledge to become Buddha,the Enlightened One. The serenity of the atmosphere remains in the subconscious soul of any visitor. (Overnight) Bodhgaya.

Bodhgaya - Varanasi
Morning leave Bodhgaya for Varanasi by road (250 kms / 8 hrs). On arrival transfer to hotel. 
Varanasi : The eternal city is one of the most important Pilgrim sites in India and also a major tourist attraction, situated on the banks of the sacred Ganges. SARNATH ( the Deer Park), Buddha delivered his first sermon, The Emperor Ashoka (c 304 - 232 BC), who spread the Buddha's message of love and compassion throughout his vast empire, visited Sarnath around 234 BC, and erected a stupa here.Evan today most of the ruins, the museum and temple are all within walking distance. (Overnight stay) Varanasi.

Varanasi - Kushinagar
Early morning boat ride on the river Ganges to see the sunrise and the bathing Ghats of an ancient Hindu city. Later leave Varanasi for KUSHINAGAR it was a small town in the days of the Buddha. But it became famous when the Buddha passed away here, on his way from Rajgir to Sravasti. In 543 BC, on a full moon night of Magh the legend delivered lecture to his Sangha and declared that he is going to leave the mortal world soon enough. His last memorable words were, “All composite things decay. Strive diligently!” (Overnight stay) in Kushinagar. 

Kushinagar - Lumbini
Leave Kushinagar for Lumbini (in Nepal) Birth place of Buddha. LUMBINI (Sanskrit for "the lovely") Siddhartha Gautama Buddha was bron in 623B.C.In the famous garden in Lumbini.Lumbini is a very spritual Buddhist pilgrimage site located at the Nepalese town of Kapilavastu, district Rupandehi, near the Indian border.Lumbini is one of four pilgrimage sites based on major events in the life of Gautama Buddha on the Buddha trail. (Overnight stay) in Lumbini. 

Lumbini - Sravasti
Morning proceed to Sravasti (Sahet-Mahet) which is about 150 kms / 04 hrs drive.SRAVASTI Buddha spent 25 years living in the monastery of Jetavana. Many Vinaya rules, Jatakas and Sutras were first discussed at this place. The Buddha is supposed to have astonished rival teachers by performing miracles at Sravasti. It is said that it was in Sravasti that the Buddha transformed Angulimal from a dacoit into a Buddhist monk. He also delivered many important sermons here.. (Overnight) in Sravasti. 

Sravasti - Lucknow
Morning proceed to Lucknow (180 kms / 5 hrs) and connect train for Agra. Overnight on train or Bus.

Lucknow-Agra
Arrive Agra Full day city tour of Agra visit to TAJ MAHAL, Taj Mahal was built by Shah Jahan to enshrine the body of his wife, Arjumand Bann Begum (Mumtaz Mahal) after she died in 1630.The construction started in 1632 and was completed in 1653. The workforce of some 20,000 included craftsmen from Italy, Persia and Turkey. It is built by the bank of the Yamuna river not very far from the Agra Fort. (Overnight) in hotel.

 

Agra - Jaipur

Drive to Jaipur. Jaipur city tour JAIPUR, the vibrant capital of Rajasthan, is popularly known as the ' Pink City ' It sits on a dry lake bed in a somewhat arid landscape, surrounded by barren hills surmounted by forts and crenellated walls. This buzzing metropolis is certainly a place of wild contrasts and a feast for the eyes. The region's strong cultural heritage is distinctly evident even today. Drive to Delhi Overnight Hotel in Delhi.

 

Tour concludes in Delhi-

Next day after breakfast , Meet local vendors last Shopping day if we have extra time we might offer you a extra tour of city. End of Buddha trail Tour. Depart to Airport.
